Mary I. Beaver, 96, a resident of Highlands at Wyomissing, formerly of Temple, died Oct. 2 in the Highlands' health care center. She was the widow of John L. Beaver. She is the last of her immediate family.

Barry D. Bond, 62, Wernersville, died Oct. 2 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.He was a son of Mildred S. (Noll) Bond, StoneRidge, Myerstown and the late John D. Bond. Surviving in addition to his mother is a daughter, Tammy L. Kalin, Reading; brothers: Ronald E. Bond, Heidelberg Township; Arthur P. Bond, South Heidelberg Township; and Dennis A. Bond, East Petersburg; and grandchildren: Logan, Taylor, Ivy and Laurel.

Anthony Miccicke, 66, Shillington, died Oct. 1 in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Feeg) Miccicke. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Anthony F., Hyde Park; and Michael S., at home; brothers, Salvatore and Joseph, both of Mohnton; and sisters: Mary Miccicke, Reading; Josephine Saul, Wernersville; Kay Campanello, New Jersey; and Elizabeth Saluk, New Ringgold.

Catherine R. Miller, 84, Kutztown, died Oct. 3 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Irvin L. Miller. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Leatrice M. (Miller), wife of Glance L. Moatz, Topton; and Nancy L. (Miller), wife of Robert L. Scheidt Jr., Kutztown; brother, Lee R. Louise (DiStasio) Shaaber, 95, formerly of Birdsboro, died Oct. 3 in Golden Living Center, Exeter Township. She was predeceased by her first husband, Claude Wert and her second husband, Allen Moyer Shaaber. Surviving are a sister, Rose Lander, widow of Russell Lander Sr., Mifflin Center, Shillington; grandchildren: Deborah Lutz, Jamie Wert, Eileen Barnett and Kathleen McCarthy.

Madeline A. Stanislaw, 87, Sinking Spring, died Oct. 2 in Reading Hospital. She was the widow of Frank Stanislaw and was predeceased by Francis Faller. Madeline is survived by a daughter, Diane M., wife of Robert McAllister, Robesonia; and sons, Larry F. Faller, Julian, Calif.; and Edward J. Faller, Mesopotamia, Ohio; and her companion, Raymond Rader, Sinking Spring.

Leon A. Guida, 84, South Heidelberg Township, died Oct. 3 in ManorCare, Spring Township. He is survived by his wife, Constance (Helson) Guida; a son, Richard, Spring Township; a daughter, Jacqueline, The Villages, Fla.; sisters, Ann Verno and Mary Rulli, both of Stowe; and a grandson, Anthony.

James E. Hafer Sr., 89, Maidencreek Township, died Oct. 4 in ManorCare, Muhlenberg Township. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth C. (Neighbors) Hafer. He is survived by sons: James E. Anne G. (Curry) Goldberg, 90, Mohnton, died Oct. 3 in hospice care at Phoebe Berks Health Care Center. She was the widow of Melvin Goldberg. She is survived by her brother, Leonard Curry, Birmingham, Mich.; and a stepson.

Elizabeth M. Graeff, 88, Shillington, died Oct. 3 in the Mifflin Center. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac H. Graeff. She is survived by her son, Harold I. Graeff; and a sister, Mary Trego.

Joan M. Hawkins, 70, died Oct. 5 in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Donald P. Hawkins. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Susan B. and her companion, Brody C. Witmer, Hamburg; and Kristen A., wife of Scott Worman, Schwenksville; and a son, Jeffrey L. Hawkins, Hamburg.

Glenn W. Himmelberger, 79, Bernville, died Oct. 4 in Phoebe Berks Health Center, Wernersville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. (Heimel) Himmelberger. He is survived by a son, Darryl G. Himmelberger, Bernville; and a daughter, Gretchen A. Foster, and husband, Gary, Bernville; a brother, Leon Himmelberger, Reading; sisters, Faye Mutschler, Pine Grove; and Fern Barner, Maryland; grandchildren: Melissa, Jessica, Philip, Cory, Travis and Kiersten.

Ricky J. DeJoseph Sr., 59, Penn Township, died Oct. 5 in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Kline) DeJoseph and a son of John L. DeJoseph, Birdsboro and the late Carrie E. (Kuntz) DeJoseph. He is also survived by sons, Ricky J. DeJoseph Jr. and Christopher J. DeJoseph; a sister, Robin, wife of Allen Snyder, Temple.

Carl E. “Corky” Fisher, 81, Temple, died Oct. 5 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township. He was the widower of Shirley H. (Hiller) Fisher. He was the last of his immediate family.

David Eric Griesemer, 25, Topton, died Oct. 5 in Muhlenberg Township. He was a son of Eric S. Griesemer and Dona M. Hetman, Topton. Surviving in addition to his parents is a brother, Alan W. Griesemer, Philadelphia.

Earl K. Grubb Sr., 84, Reading, formerly of Morgantown, died Oct. 5 in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Eleanor Frances (Leslie) Grubb. He is survived, in addition to his wife, by a son, the Rev. E. Kenneth, Phenix City, Ala., and daughters, Ann L. Grubb, Reading, and Vanessa D., and her husband, Bart Rodgers, Shillington; a brother, George Grubb, Flying Hills, and sisters, Grace Moore, Mohnton, and Elsie Evans, Flying Hills.

Thelma Haines, 96, formerly of Shillington, died Sept. 28. She was the widow of J. Melvin Haines. Thelma is survived by a daughter, Audrey, Sinking Spring.

Margaret Mary (Keltz) Hartgen, 93, formerly of Spring Township, died Oct. 4 in Phoebe Berks Health Center, Wernersville. She was the wife of the late John Stephen Hartgen. She is survived by children: John W. Hartgen, Williamsburg, Va.; M. Patricia Soliday, Lebanon; and the Rev. Msgr. Dennis T. Hartgen, Hyde Park.

Judith M. Kalina, 61, Kenhorst, died Oct. 5 in Reading Hospital. Surviving are a brother, Daniel J. Kalina, Kenhorst, sisters, Georgine A. (Kalina) Dugan, Reading, and M. Jenine (Kalina), wife of Edward A. Ratajczak, Laureldale.

Dorothy M. Krueger, 89, formerly of Lorane, Exeter Township, died Oct. 5 in the residence of a granddaughter, with whom she lived in Wernersville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick C. Krueger. She is also survived by sons, William C. Krueger, Northville, Mich., and Scott C. Krueger, Exeter Township; and a daughter, Jo Anne, wife of Thomas M. Malafarina, Wernersville.

Pastor Stanley Jay Leas, 61, formerly of Reading, died Sept. 19 at home. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; their daughters, Jessica and Erica; his grandson, Jayden Kent Lee; his father, Harold Leas; and his sister, Becky Krepps.

Robert J. Luckenbill Sr., 66, Reading, died Oct. 5 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township. He was the husband of Lynda (Keller) Luckenbill. He is also survived by a son, Robert J. Luckenbill Jr., Reading; a daughter, Karen Luckenbill, Reading; grandchildren, Taylor and Erin Luckenbill, both of Pottsville; brothers: James Luckenbill; William Luckenbill; Ronald Luckenbill; Milton Luckenbill; and Ralph Luckenbill, and a sister, Barbara, wife of Wayne Orlick, all of Pottsville.

Laura M. Moore, 80, Reading, died Oct. 6 in ManorCare Health Services, West Reading. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Adams and her second husband, Warren Moore. Laura is survived by her son, Ronald Adams, Reinholds; her grandchildren, Tara L., wife of Drew Eck, Temple, and Christi Sweigart, Sinking Spring.

Carmen R. Paolini, 77, Wyomissing, died Oct. 6 in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Regina “Jean” (Fleming) Paolini. Carole A. Redcay, 63, Muhlenberg Township, died Oct. 5 in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Ronald R. Redcay. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Brian J. Redcay, Muhlenberg Township, a daughter, Kellie L. Redcay, Lower Pottsgrove Township; grandsons, Derrick J. and Daniel T. Redcay.

Lillian Z. Reesta, 89, Shillington, died Oct. 4 in her daughter Marian's residence. She was the widow of the late Spero J. Reesta. She is survived by her daughters: Marian (Reesta) Perry, wife of Don Perry, with whom Mrs. Reesta resided, and Lillian A. (Reesta) Harr, wife of Jim Harr, Chapel Hill, N.C.; brothers, George Zallie, Voorhees, N.J., and John Zallie, King of Prussia.

Rose M. Zappacosta, 47, Temple, died Oct. 5. She was the wife of Gary W. Zappacosta and a daughter of Walter A. Johnson Sr., Easton and the late Margaret E. (Remaly) Wilson. Other survivors include a stepson, Anthony W. Zappacosta, Temple; and a grandson, Adam Zappacosta; brothers, Walter A. Johnson Jr., Easton, and Ernest P. Wilson, Cogan Station; and sisters, Marcia A. Glenn J. Yoder, 59, Mount Penn, died Oct. 4 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township. Mr. Yoder is survived by his long life friend, Anthony Gazzillo.

Donald L. Weidner, 74, Oley Township, died Oct. 4 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township. He was the husband of Hermine (Steinlein) Weidner. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters: Vicki Ann Conrad, Craig, Colo.; Lori Lynn Weidner, Laval, Quebec, Canada; and Marcia Weidner-Sutphen, Alsace Township; stepdaughters, Marisa G. Henderson, Ruscombmanor Township, and Ronja L. Habbinga, Atlanta; and a stepson, Lars O. Henderson, Oley.

Julius F. Billitz, 94, Richmond Township, died Oct. 7 in the Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Reading. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen V. (Gerth) Billitz. He is survived by daughters, Judy A. Brown and Trudy A., wife of Bruce Leibensperger, both of Fleetwood; grandchildren: Robert Brown; Darryl Brown; and Kelly Leibensperger.

Francisco Delgado, 52, Reading, died Oct. 6 in his residence. He was the husband of Maria Gonzalez. He is also survived by sons, Francisco O. Delgado and Francisco G. Delgado, daughters: Francheska M. Delgado, Amber Delgado and Laiza Delgado, all of Reading and numerous brothers and sisters.

Idris “Stu” Hashim-Gilbert, 49, Philadelphia, died Oct. 2 in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. He was a son of Charles E. Gilbert Jr., Philadelphia and Sandra Greer, Reading. He is also survived by a daughter, Melice Sandra Gilbert, Reading; a sister, Melice Gilbert Hinds, and a brother, Brian A. Gilbert, both of Philadelphia.

Vincent E. Jackson Sr., 41, Reading, died Oct. 6 in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Lucia (Picant) Jackson, at home and a son of Raymond T. McFee Jr., Philadelphia, and Charlotte Jackson Broadus, wife of Ken Broadus, Harrisburg.. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by grandmothers, Mary Jackson and Nancy McFee, and sons, Vincent E. Jackson Jr., Erick Murray, and Corey, Shawn and Tyler Jackson, all at home; grandchildren, Alexander Palmer and Aaren Jackson, both at home; brothers, James L. and Cameron L. Rose M. Keener, 66, Bernville, died Oct. 6 in Reading Hospital. She was the widow of Ernest L. Keener. Rose is survived by a daughter, Lynn (Patterson) Foreman, Bern Township; a sister, Mary G. Pizzo, Tuckerton; a brother, Steven A. Doleniak, Shillington; a half sister, Arlene Bauknecht, Birdsboro; grandsons: Eric R., Timothy A. and Joel D. Foreman.

Esther May LaFaver, 85, Ontelaunee Township, died Oct. 7 in Reading Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul James LaFaver Sr. She is survived by children, Paul James LaFaver Jr., Temple, and Theresa Mae (LaFaver) Folk, Richmond Township.

Aaron A. Milke, 32, Reading, died Oct. 6 in his residence. He was a son of Louis J. Milke, Shillington, and Bonnie (Dinning) Milke, Reading. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Sean F. Milke, Exeter Township; stepbrothers, Michael Raenal and Ethan Raenal, both of Shillington; his stepmother, LeAnn Milke, Shillington; and a special mother, Virginia Haas.

Helen F. Pochron, 89, died in her Reading home Oct. 7. Helen was predeceased by her husband, John P. Pochron. Helen is survived by her daughter, Anna Marie, widow of James Endy Sr., with whom she resided; a sister, Dorothy, wife of Alfonso Sajdak, Shillington; a brother, Edward Chojnowski, Reading; a grandson, John P. Endy, Reading.

Barbara J. Ratkiewicz, 69, Reading, died Oct. 6 in her residence. She was the wife of Anthony E. Ratkiewicz. Barbara is also survived by daughters, Kim M. Eschleman, Muhlenberg Township, and Heather M. Rostek, Wyomissing; a son, Anthony E. Ratkiewicz Jr., Robesonia; sisters, Sandy Scibek, Harrisburg, and Sarah Fick, Blandon.

Catherine Joan Burkhart, 76, Exeter Township, died Oct. 7 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township. She was the wife of Rodman B. “Rocky” Burkhart. In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Robert W., Jacksonwald, and a stepdaughter, Rhonda Soth, Hallandale Beach, Fla.; sisters, May Miller, Tampa, Fla., and Marion Fromm, Sinking Spring.

Albert Butkus, 97, Sinking Spring, died Oct. 8 in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Evelyn E. (Schock) Butkus. Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a son, Francis A. Butkus, Sinking Spring.

Linda Jean (Raduta) Keltz, 51, died Oct. 8 in her Spring Township residence. She was the wife of Christopher Kevin Keltz. She is also survived by her twin sons, Matthew D. Keltz and Brian A. Keltz, both seniors at the University of Pittsburgh; a brother, Barry V. Raduta, Doylestown, Bucks County.

Frances I. Yeager, 71, formerly of Upper Tulpehocken Township, died Oct. 7 in her daughter's home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Yeager Sr. Surviving are her daughter, Edna, wife of Kenneth Kline, Tilden Township, and her son, Howard A. Yeager Jr., Centre Township; a brother, Lee Acker, Telford, sisters: Catherine Young, Shillington; Beatrice, wife of Russell Golding, Reading; Lillian Warner, in Tennessee; and Perma Schlegel, Reading; grandchildren: Stacy, Tammy, Michael, Malinda and Steven.

Maxine E. Belz, 55, Reading, died Oct. 6 in her residence. She was the wife of Thomas C. Belz. Surviving in addition to her husband is a stepdaughter, Tina J. Belz, Reading; brothers, Marcus and Michael Adams.

William Russell “Harry” “Jessie” James, 85, Birdsboro, died Oct. 8 in the West Lawn home of his significant other, Edith Spayd. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie (Reider) James. Surviving along with his significant other, Edith, are daughters: JoAnn, wife of William Breslin, Birdsboro; Rose Ann James, Birdsboro; and Mary Ellen, wife of Robert G. Lafferty, Exeter Township; a son, William Russell James, Mount Penn; sisters, Mae (James) Boldt, Reading, and Florence (James) Bressler, Reading.

Samuel P. Kasparian, 76, formerly of Whitfield, died Oct. 6 in Morrison, Colo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olivia (Ansourian) Kasparian. He is survived by a daughter, Janine, Y. wife of Glenn Wolfe, Evergreen, Colo.; a son, Peter S. Kasparian, West Lawn; grandson, Derek S. Henrietta Kopteros, 88, Spring Township, died Oct. 10 in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Frank Kopteros. Also surviving are a son, John M. Mary T. Kruczkowski, 89, formerly of Pittsburgh, died Oct. 9 in Berks Heim, Bern Township, where she resided. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Kruczkowski. Frank Sager, 59, Lower Alsace Township, died Oct. 9 in his residence. He was a son of Adeline (Beilin) Sager Dunitz, Wyomissing and the late Julius J. Sager. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Rachel Sager, Rochester, N.Y.; and a sister, Shirley (Sager) Pocrass, Pennside.

Donald L. Daniels Jr., 68, Kenhorst, died Oct. 10 in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Carol Ann (Jackson) Daniels. He is survived by sons, Martin L. Daniels, Sinking Spring and Mark L. Daniels, Blandon; a daughter, Tammy L. (Daniels) Hoffert, Greenfields; a sister, Donna L. Louis Sharnell Junior Johnson, 38, Exeter Township, died Oct. 10 in Reading. He was a son of Louis Johnson Sr., Lancaster and Margie Clemons-Terry, Exeter Township.
